A. Background ObjectivesWithin the Senior Vice Presidency Complex, the Business Transformation (SNBT) Department supports the Senior Vice-President (SVP) in the execution of responsibilities related to ensuring organizational effectiveness. The Department works to ensure that the Bank, as an organization, is fit for purpose and can adapt to changes in its internal and external environment. It leads on Bank-wide change management efforts as necessary and fosters an organizational culture that aligns processes and systems to deliver high impact results. SNBT leads or supports the review, establishment, and implementation of suitable internal organizational structures, systems, business processes, policies, procedures, methods, and information technology for effective implementation of strategic objectives championed by Senior Management to achieve measurable improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.The mandate of the Business Process Re-engineering Division (SNBT.2) is to coordinate the implementation of the Transformation Agenda initiatives approved by Senior Management. The division is also responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise in managing the review of the Bank’s business processes, and the implementation of related information technology systems and change management plans.
ObjectivesThe main goal of this consultancy is to support the coordination and the implementation of the Bank’s Transformation Agenda initiatives led by the Business Process Reengineering Division Manager (SNBT.2), with a particular focus on sovereign and non-sovereign Operations.
B. Scope of workUnder the overall guidance of the Division Manager, SNBT.2, the consultant’s duties will include the following:
• Support the implementation, deployment, stabilization and continuous enhancement of the NOW, in collaboration with Operations departments, SAP consultants and relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in the planning, coordination and execution of testing and post-deployment validation activities; document, track and retest defects and enhancement requests; support their resolution; and contribute to the validation of system configurations, templates, forms, workflows and reporting requirements.
• Support data migration activities from legacy systems to NOW, including preparation, mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, migration testing and post-migration verification, and liaise with Operations teams to address data quality issues.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of bilingual user guides, operating procedures, training materials, FAQs and other support resources, while documenting lessons learned, recurring issues and good practices.
• Provide functional support, user training and knowledge transfer to Operations users, facilitate the collection and consolidation of user feedback, and coordinate the escalation of technical and system-related issues to the appropriate teams.
• Support business transformation, stakeholder engagement, change management, business readiness and user adoption activities related to NOW to promote effective implementation and sustainable use of the platform.
• Support project coordination, monitoring and reporting activities, including the tracking of actions, issues, dependencies and milestones, and the preparation of implementation updates, dashboards and governance materials for management and decision-making bodies.
• Perform any other duties related to the implementation and continuous improvement of NOW and associated business transformation initiatives as assigned by SNBT management.
C. Deliverables Expected• The following is the list of expected deliverables during the assignment:
• Outputs for NOW Release 2 implementation, deployment, pilot and roll out activities.
• Contribute to the migration activities from the current system to the NOW.
• Contribute to the implementation of change management activities, training, user support, and adoption initiatives to ensure the effective rollout of NOW. This includes developing user guides and training materials, facilitating training sessions, and providing ongoing support to users.
• Contribute to the preparation of ad hoc or periodic write-ups or reports on Departmental activities and achievements.
D. Duration and Timetable for the AssignmentThe Consultant shall carry out the assignment period is expected for six (06) months, and the estimated starting date is 02 November 2026.
E. Bank Contribution and Institutional Arrangementa) The following documentation will be provided by the Bank to the Consultant for her/his assignment: various reference documents including among others: Bank group policies and guidelines related to topics covered, Delegation of Authority Matrix, …
b) The consultant will work closely with the department’s management team, and other resources in the ecosystem.
c) In the course of performing the work, the consultant is called upon to collaborate with numerous employees from various functions and grades.
d) At the end of the contract, a performance evaluation will be carried out to assess the quality of the consultant’s work.
e) The Bank will provide the consultant with the following list: VPN access, access to SAP systems, DARMS, Teams , etc.REMUNERATION
The consultant will receive a monthly lump sum rate based on his experience. No additional benefits or per diem will be paid. The individual consultant is responsible for his/her own health insurance.
F. Duty StationThe work will be carried out fully remotely.
G. Essential Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Competencies• A minimum of a Master’s degree in computer sciences, information systems, business administration, project management, economics or related disciplines.
• At least fifteen (15) years of relevant and progressive professional experience in development work, or related areas. Prior Operations and information systems, management and ERP/SAP implementation experience within the AfDB, other MDBs or the private sector will constitute a strong asset.
• Solid understanding of the AfDB’s business and operational needs with proven ability to drive innovation and promote organizational change.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality deliverables with tight deadlines, exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions.
• Proficiency in standard Bank software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.
H. SupervisorThe consultant will report to the Manager, Business Process Reengineering Division (SNBT.2).
